Console price drops on the way?
Electronic Gaming Monthly's Q-Man is reporting through Gamers.com that they have caught wind of rumors that all three major console designers, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, will be lowering the prices of their respective consoles within the next week.
According to the Q, the Playstation 2 and Xbox will be dropping to $150, while Nintendo's GameCube will reduce its price to $100. whether MS will change the Xbox's price to $150 and still include the Sega games isn't addressed by Gamers.com, and we really aren't sure what to think.
This remains unconfirmed currently, but it will certainly make things even more interesting going into the holidays. Sony recently lowered the price of its console in Japan, so a domestic price drop isn't inconceivable.
