From a Christian perspective, this game stands against
almost everything that is Christian. There are cuss words,
God's name in vain, blood, killing, violence, killing for sport, assassinations, --you name it, PD's got it. I would stay away
from this game for all extents and purposes, unless you absolutely
can't resist.

Appropriateness
Bleh. Bloodrayne is extremely gory and has many
flying body parts. It also involves a battle against
a former Satan, and Bloodrayne herself is half vampire.
There is a lot of blood sucking in this game. And a lot of cussing.
Rayne herself is the main perpetrator, sayin' every word
in the book at times. This game is not for kids. Rayne and
her mentor Mynce both wear revealing clothing, and Rayne
often moves in a suggestive manner during cutscenes.
Rayne also tends to use her mdiddle finger alot.
Overall, Bloodrayne is an fun, if short lived action game,
with many-a christian downfalls.

Offensive Content
Yep, lots and lots of it. Where to start, aww, how about
the story I wrote above. The squirrel gets drunk and
stumbles off. There is also tons and tons of vulgarities,
but the really rough ones are beeped. Another problem
with the game is its violence. The squirrels go into war with
the tedz, a group of militarist teddy bears. In this part of
the game, blood flies and so do parts of bodies. There are
some sexual innuendos between Conker and his girlfriend, Berry.
And add to the icing on the cake of offensiveness,
you get to do battle with a large pile of feces who has
a theme song. This song si about how he wants to sodomize
him self with your head. Gross. F.
Overall
I like this game, even through its offensive humor and gore.
I think many will be turned off by that. Those that stay
through it will find unique game.

Ninja Gaiden
This is the part where the 'From a Christian Perspective'
comes in. Ninja games tend to go hand in hand with
Eastern religions. Ninja Gaiden is not an exception.
Throughout the story, you will find many references
to demons and gods and you will find a lot of symbols
that tie in with paganistic beliefs.
Another problem that needs to be noted which was
not mentioned on the back of the box in the 'M' rating
is the fact that Team Ninja remained faithful in their
tradition of having one or more female characters of
unrealistic proportions wearing as little clothing as possible.
In Summation
The beautiful graphics and exciting game play makes
Ninja Gaiden a very addictive game. However, due to
the paganistic beliefs, scantily clad characters, and
bloody graphics, I would recommend that Christians
run away from the ninja.

March 09 2004 It's really sad because while this is
probably one of the best Xbox games made, I've
purposely steered clear of it simply because
of the offensive content, namely the almost naked
female character. It's pathetic that developers put
that stuff in such a good games.
TrigunX89
March 10 2004 It's true that this game deals with
some problems in appropriateness, but aside from
that, it's a great game. It is a mature game,
but I wouldn't go so far as to tell everyone to stear
clear from it. I would only warn them. This is one
of the best action-adventure games I've ever
played, as well as one of the best Xbox games I've played.

March 11 2004 Yeah,it has lots of negative things
concerning religion, but I do not judge a game by this.
The game is rock solid. I do however condemn
Tecmos Deception...that was clearly a horrible game
with horrible things in the game. But this game is awesome.
I recommend to simply ignore the bad things and focus
on the game itself. The game is well worth it.
BluePhilosophy
March 11 2004 Not only is Ninja Gaiden the very
best of its genre (which it often transcends with its
RPG, Platformer, Action/Adventure,
Suspense/Thriller elements), but it's easily one
of the best games, period. The graphics are to a
point of extreme realism, although who would
have doubted Team Ninja, creators of Dead or Alive
and other such graphical marvels. Story however,
hasn't been a Team Ninja strong point, but Ninja Gaiden
pulls out all right with a "revenge" plot, and truly, that's
all one needs. The replay value of this game is
phenomenal considering the type of game this is:
online scores, ratings and free prizes, as well as
RPG elements, i.e. larger combos yield larger rewards
and upgradeable items. Because of how massive each
level is, there is much room for replaying this game
and finding things you had no idea existed. On top of
the fact that you have normal, hard and very hard
modes, you may find yourself replaying the same
level difficulties just for the sake of exploring
everything, which is a challenge unto itself.
The ESRB gave Ninja Gaiden an M rating appropriately.
There is a consistent flow of blood in every scene
of Ninja Gaiden. One cant turn a corner and not have
violence of some sort, but it is not to a point to wher
your bed starts shaking and you become possessed
by Satan himself. Lets be realistic. Ninja Gaiden is a
mature game for mature people. To simply ignore it
because of its violence is good if you feel you cant
handle it, but it does not make you a heathen if you
play it. There is a scantily clad woman or two, but its not
gratuitous, as is anything else in Ninja Gaiden.
Eastern religion does take a role (that of a major or minor
role is up to the viewer) but we shouldnt act like there
arent other religions in the world. By playing Ninja Gaiden
you are not swearing off God, you are playing a video game.
Nothing more. Ninja Gaiden is a well-produced game with
multi genre elements that could make almost any style gamer
happy, but it truly is a mature game for a mature audience.

grievous sin simply by feasting your eyes upon Rachel's

Oh and no I never really got an F. Okay, so basically
you are saying that because there are beliefs of an old
tradition culture of which the GAME is set in that it
is unacceptable. You know what you sound like?
An Imperialist. Oh this culture is different than ours,
therefore it is WRONG! not only is this racist, arrogant,
socially destructive, close mind, ignorant, but it's flat
out disgusting. You know nothing of compassion and
understand nothing of God's intention. Everything is
put on this world for us to understand it. You are
trying to make everything in this world understand
you! Learn from this, a Zen Buddhist. Hopefully,
you will not be close minded about this too.

The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask
Appropriateness
Heres the big problem with Majoras Mask.
The appropriateness. The Mask is inhabited by a demon,
there is a mask called the Fierce Deity Mask, which turns
Link into a sort of demigod. Other than those problems,
Majoras Mask is an excellent, truly quality game, if not a
little repetitive and lackluster in story. Majoras Mask deals
excessively with demonic possession and the dark side
of the spiritual war. Despite the fact that it is, yet again,
a triumph of game design, Majoras Mask is not a game I,
personally, would recommend for a Christian to play.
