Koei Tecmo’s Bladestorm: Nightmare Coming West In 2015

Bladestorm: Nightmare is being released in the West Q1 2015, Koei Tecmo announced this morning. (Note that “Bladestorm: Nightmare” is a tentative title.)

The game follows Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, which was released in 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Koei describe it as a “strategy game at its core”. It focuses on historical events during the European middle-ages.

Bladestorm: Nightmare will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can view a Japanese trailer for the game in this older report.

Koei Tecmo is bringing the Bladestorm series back with an enhanced version of the game called Bladestorm: Nightmare in the West. The game takes place during the Hundred Years’ War where players can choose to side with England and France.

Or you can fight dragons. Bladestorm: Nightmare has a new episode with fantasy monsters like goblins and cyclopes to fight.

Bladestorm: Nightmare is scheduled to come out in Japan on January 29, 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One. Koei Tecmo confirmed they will bring the game to the West in Q1 2015.

Koei Tecmo hat einige neue Informationen zu Bladestorm: Nightmare veröffentlicht, das bereits für einen Release im Westen im kommenden Jahr bestätigt ist. Es handelt sich um ein Reboot des 2007 erschienen Bladestorm: Der Hundertjährige Krieg für PlayStation 4 und Xbox One sowie “digital only” für PlayStation 3. Entwickelt wird der Titel von Omega Force.

In diesem Action-Strategie-Spiel übernimmt der Spieler die Rolle eines Söldners und kämpft sich entweder an der Seite der Engländer oder der Franzosen durch Missionen, die an Ereignisse aus der Zeit des Hundertjährigen Krieges von 1337 bis 1453 angelehnt sind.

In diesem Konflikt stritten das Haus Plantagenet (England) und das Haus Valois (Frankreich) um den französischen Thron; zahlreiche westeuropäische Königreiche wurden in die Kämpfe hineingezogen. Der Spieler kann verschiedene Truppenverbände (zum Beispiel Nah- und Fernkämpfer, berittene Einheiten et cetera) und Armeen befehligen. Gleichzeitig hat er die Gelegenheit, seinen eigenen einzigartigen Charakter zu entwickeln, den Umfang seines Ruhms, seiner Reichtümer und Armeen zu vergrößern sowie unterschiedliche Missionen abseits aller Bündnisse und Loyalitäten zu erfüllen.

Im Nightmare-Modus kann man Szenarien spielen, die nicht auf historischen Ereignissen beruhen. Dabei kann man 32 weitere Charaktere steuern, sowohl fiktive als auch prominente historische Figuren, darunter Edward, der Schwarze Prinz, und die legendäre Jeanne D’Arc.

Rumor Has It Joan Of Arc Is Leading A Monster Army In Bladestorm: Nightmare

Koei Tecmo Games is working on an enhanced version of Bladestorm, which uses the Hundred Years’ War as its source material for the setting. Bladestorm: Nightmare strays from historical events even more than usual with its new Nightmare storyline.

Players will fight mythological creatures like dragons and a giant cyclops. Bladestorm: Nightmare’s story gets even stranger by tying Joan of Arc in it who is rumored to be the leader of the monsters.

Bladestorm: Nightmare is scheduled to come out on January 29, 2015 in Japan.

Bladestorm: Nightmare release date announced

Bladestorm: Nightmare will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3 on March 3 in North America and March 6 in Europe, Koei Tecmo announced.

The strategy game puts players in the role of a mercenary who can choose to fight either for England or France in missions inspired by real events and battles of ‘the Hundred Years War’ era (1337-1453). Players will be able to assume command of different kinds of army units, develop their own character, increase their game, gold, and army, and compete in various missions.

Outside of the game’s main mode, which follows the events of the war as they unfolded in history, a standalone, fictional mode called “Nightmare” will also be included.

In Nightmare mode, mythical creatures led by a seemingly turned-evil Joan of Arc appear during the Hundred Years War. These creatures consist of dragons, giants, and demons, and force England and France to call a temporary ceasefire to team up and defeat these evil forces. A total of 32 new characters are playable in this mode, based both on fictional and historical figures of the time.

The Japanese version of Bladestorm will launch on January 29.

Even Bladestorm: Nightmare Has A Bit Of Dynasty Warriors In It

Bladestorm: Nightmare takes place in Europe, but that doesn’t mean it can’t have a Dynasty Warriors crossover. In Japan, first print copies include a code for a Zhao Yun costume for the Edward the Black Prince and a Wang Yuanji costume for Joan of Arc. Both of these costumes come from the smartphone game, Dynasty Warriors Blast, which has only been released in Japan.

Bladestorm: Nightmare comes out for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 29, 2015 in Japan. Koei Tecmo Games plans to release it in Q1 2015 in North America.

Bladestorm: Nightmare Has Online Co-Op So You Can Fight Cyclopses With Friends

Koei Tecmo Games is working on an enhanced version of Bladestorm which adds a new fantasy scenario where you fight dragons and cyclopses. Famitsu reports another upgrade in Bladestorm: Nightmare is online cooperative play for story mode. Up to four players can work together to fight Edward the Black Prince or slice through goblins. Each player gets their own rewards in online co-op so you don’t have to worry about another player swiping loot.

Bladestorm: Nightmare also has a versus mode where players can set custom rules.

Bladestorm: Nightmare is scheduled for release on January 29, 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A Western release is scheduled for March 3, 2015.

Bladestorm: Nightmare’s Fantasy Storyline Turns Joan Of Arc Into The Villain

Bladestorm: Nightmare has two chapters the Hundred Years’ War from the original game and a new Nightmare storyline. In the Nightmare story, while England and France are still at war monsters and dragons suddenly appear. These beasts are said to be led by Joan of Arc, who was a protagonist in the main the story.

The end of the Bladestorm: Nightmare trailer shows battles from the Nightmare chapter. This mode adds giant monsters, a goblin army, and Griffins you can ride. Bladestorm: Nightmare also supports online co-op for both modes.

Koei Tecmo Games released a demo for Bladestorm: Nightmare, an enhanced version of their tactics game set during the Hundred Years’ War. Bladestorm: Nightmare adds a new scenario with a dark fantasy setting and monsters like goblins to fight.

You can get the Bladestorm: Nightmare demo if you have a Japan region PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account. Here’s a direct link to the 4.8 GB PlayStation 4 demo and 1.9 GB PlayStation 3 version. The demo is also available for Xbox One.

Bladestorm: Nightmare wird in Europa am 20. März 2015 für PlayStation 4 und Xbox One erscheinen - das Spiel rund um den Hundertjährigen Krieg wird ebenfalls als Digitaltitel auf der PS3 erhältlich sein. Passend zur Termin-Ankündigung hat Koei Tecmo weiteres Bildmaterial aus dem Charakter-Editier-Modus und dem Troop-Command-System im Kampf veröffentlicht.

In Bladestorm: Nightmare zieht der Spieler als Söldner in den Hundertjährigen Krieg und erhält Aufträge, die entweder England oder Frankreich im Kriegsgeschehen voranbringen. Die Missionen drehen sich um die Kampffertigkeiten sowie die strategischen bzw. taktischen Führungsfähigkeiten des Spielers. "In den Kampf begibt sich der Söldner natürlich nicht allein: Er kommandiert eine Armee-Einheit, die je nach Situation zusammengestellt werden kann. Während der eine Auftrag sich mit Fußsoldaten am besten lösen lässt, erfordern andere vielleicht Bogenschützen, Lanzer, Leichte Kavallerie oder eine Kombination von Nahkampf-, Fernkampf- und berittenen Einheiten. Das Kampfsystem von Bladestorm: Nightmare wurde so weiterentwickelt, dass der Spieler bis zu vier Armee-Einheiten gleichzeitig führen kann. Dies erlaubt noch mehr strategische Ausrichtung, weil die Truppen jederzeit neu ausgerichtet und mit anderen Befehlen versehen werden können – zum Beispiel eine Position halten, sich mit einem anderen Trupp verbünden oder von der Flanke angreifen, um einige Beispiele aufzuzählen. Die Spieler kann jederzeit das Kommando über eine bestimmte Truppe übernehmen, sie zu einer 200 Mann starken Armee zusammenführen oder über das Battle Map Interface neue Befehle ausgeben."

Bladestorm: Nightmare Has A Little Dynasty Warriors Dress Up

Koei Tecmo Games has a new version of Bladestorm coming out with dragons and a tiny bit of Dynasty Warriors. First print copies of Bladestorm: Nightmare in Japan include a code that gives Jeanne d’Darc a Wang Yuanji costume and Edward the Black Prince a Zhao Yun outfit.

Bladestorm: Nightmare comes out on January 29 in Japan. Digital copies in Japan will include both bonus costumes until February 4.
