Auf der Eidos Seite ist nun der erste Trailer zum Spiel Backyard Wrestling aufgetaucht. Das Spiel scheint auf jeden Fall recht blutig zu werden - so wie es eben auch in der Realität auschauen würde, wenn man sich auf seinem Hinterhof als Amateur im Wrestling versucht . Nur das Gameplay scheint wohl erwartungsgemäß auch wieder eher einmal recht arcade-lastig werden. Was bei der Thematik auch nicht wirklich verwunderlich ist.

Sehr lustig schaut auf jeden Fall der Stage in der Schlachterei mit den baumelnden, ausblutenden Rindern aus.
Ach ja, das Spiel erscheint für PS2 und xbox.

Nebenbei bemerkt, gibt es auch ein Gewinnspiel zum Game, bei dem man einen Platz im Kämpfer-Roster des Spieles gewinnen kann. Nur ist das Gewinnspiel leider nur auf US-Bürger beschränkt.

Und ein neues Video ist aufgetaucht, welches auch etwas mehr Ingame zeigt. Jedoch hat der Clip merkwürdigerweise keinen Ton.

Wrestling means many things to many people. To some, it's a dignified sport that finds a unique balance between power, grappling, and finesse. To others, it's over-the-top, drama-heavy entertainment that, while physically challenging, is planned and calculated in every possible way. Then there are those who don't really give a rat's ass about "standard" wrestling, and have created their own violent brand of the sport, so cleverly called Backyard Wrestling.
Backyard wrestling is like, say, WWE wrestling, but much, much, much more violent. Oh, and it's not scripted. Just imagine a group of fellas that really have nothing better to do than to set up a wrestling ring in their backyard, and beat the living hell out of each other. Skin is punctured, heads are mashed, and blood is spilled. And of course, there's spliced segments of top-heavy women in bikinis thrown in to the mix. Fun, right?

Well, Eidos apparently thinks so as it is releasing Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home! for the Playstation 2 and Xbox this summer. The game will feature an objective-based design that lets gamers progress through various levels, and unlock new characters, levels, and other random bonus material. Little is known about the actual combat system, but we do know that the levels will be interactive, and that the characters models will show wear and tear (i.e. cuts and bruises) as they are sliced, bludgeoned, and manhandled with the latest assortment of backyard weapons. Also, environments will multi-faceted and multi-tiered to allow for some especially painful acts of violence.

Backyard Wrestling will feature over twenty playable characters from the Backyard Wresting and Juggalo Championship Wrestling circuits including Sabu, Mdogg 20, Josh Prohibition, Rudeboy, Madman Pondo, The Masked Horn Dog, and our personal favorites, Insane Clown Posse. Expect the circus-flavored rap group to lend their music to the game as well, along with other as-of-yet unnamed artists.

Where there is violence, there are videogames. Where there is wrestling, there are videogames. Where there is Insane Clown Posse, well, apparently now, there are videogames. We'll have more details and impressions of Backyard Wrestling as E3 continues.

Das die ICP drin sind war fast zu erwarten, schließlich war das Game ja sozusagen eine Kooperation mit derer höchst eigener Juggalo Championship Wrestling.

Aber gab es nicht mal News, daß es ein eigenes Game zur Juggalo Championship Wrestling geben sollte? Weil so richtig realitätsnah scheint BYW ja nicht unbedingt zu werden. Gerade die Sprünge von den Dächern sehen doch sehr übertrieben aus. Aber wenigstens ist endlich mal vernünftig das Blut in einem Wrestlingspiel implementiert
