Agarest Senki Zero

One of the earliest RPG for PS3 is getting a prequel this June 25th (same a Rorona no Atelier: Arland no Renkinjutsushi) in Japan. Agarest Senki Zero is set a few thousand years before the first game but you’ll still be busy choosing your ideal partner in order to make sure your next generation do better in their adventures. The story takes place in Agarest, which has been peaceful thanks to the balance in power between the Light and Dark forces. One day, an army from the Dark forces crosses the border and the first generation protagonist from the Light forces save a girl named Mimeru while on duty. He then secure a special “power” from her. The main goals of the first two generations were revealed; looking for a key object to defeat your enemies in the first generation and protecting it in the second generation. Soul Breed

As mentioned above, your love bond with your chosen partner will affect the look and abilities of the next generation characters. This can be improved by talking to them frequently to trigger special events and make them feel happy with you. In Zero, the facial expressions of the girls will also change based on the options you pick while talking to them. Also, maintaining good relationship with the girls can bring you good things while visiting the town. Sometimes, they will show up in different costumes or when you’re lucky, hot event like the screen at the bottom of this post

Extend Turn Battle

Players of the first game will be familiar with the battle system, which is turn-based like typical strategy games.

Each unit has an Extend Area that when connected with other party members, can launch combined attack that deals bigger damage. Bonus will be awarded based on the number of turns you took to win the battle.

Free Intention

Besides buying items and making weapons, you can find girls in the town too and as the screen above shows, you can find them by moving your pointer around. The stars on the top left corner of screen indicate the number of times you can move in the town. You can unlock more slots by improving your relationship with the girls.

In a short comment in the Weekly Famitsu report (which this article is based on), Compile Heart PR says Zero will probably be more “sexy” than the previous game. Agarest Senki Zero is coming out June 25th in Japan.

Soul Breeding PS3 SRPG Picked Up For International Release

The thought of a Western company localizing and distributing Agarest Senki boggles the mind. Looks like it’s going to happen thanks in part to European bargain bin publisher Midas Interactive.
A rating for Agarest: Generations of War as a PlayStation 3 game popped up in Germany. The name definitely fits. Also, Midas Interactive worked with Idea Factory, the parent company of Compile Heart, in the past by crazily localizing Spectral vs. Generation. The fighting game’s biggest selling point is Neverland characters from Generation of Chaos and Spectral games which were never released in Europe prior to Spectral vs. Generation. Midas Interactive was brazen enough to publish that and localizingAgarest: Generations of War isn’t as weird.

Agarest: Generations of War is a generic strategy RPG that became notable or perhaps, notorious, for its Soul Breed system where you date and mate to make the next generation of heroes. The game got a 12+ rating so it might not be as dirty as it sounds or Midas Interactive cut the suggestive bits. Either way if you’ve been dying to play Agarest Senki you can get the game in Europe sometime in the future.

Es ist der erste Teil erschienen, nicht Zero

Und nein, das Spiel ist kein crap (kaum zu glauben das Cross Edge von den selben Machern stammt ) , es ist sogar ziemlich lustig und das Kampfsystem gefällt mir. Anders als Disgaea nimmt sich das Spiel auch ernst und die "Heirat"-Sachen sind jetzt auch nichts weltbewegendes und durchaus ein echt nettes Spielelement. Zumal gibt es in dem Spiel reichlich zu entdecken und viel Spielbeeinflussende Entscheidungen/Elemente (neben den typischen 3 Antworten in VNs, entscheiden so auch z.B. Kämpfe direkt, welche Route man wählt (z.B. wenn man mit einem bestimmten Charakter in der Party kämpft und dieser besiegt wird)

Ich hab bis jetzt gut 60 Stunden (oder mehr, eine Zeitangabe gibt es leider nicht) gespielt und bin noch nicht in der letzten Generation, muss aber sagen, dass das Preis/Leistungs Verhältniss definitiv super ist (zumal ich eh die LE gekauft habe^^)

Dem dritten Post könnte ich jetzt eigentlich so zustimmen, wobei ich dem Spiel eher 8,5 Punkte geben würde^^. Mir macht es jedenfalls mehr Spaß als Disgaea, auch weil es so aufgebaut ist, wie eine VN und das Kampfsystem dank Kombinationen sogar recht tiefgründig ist. Imho eines der besseren S-RPGs, eigentlich ist nur die Grafik schlecht, aber das ist bei Disgaea und co. ja auch nicht anders.

Würde Zero hier erscheinen, ich würde es sofort vorbestellen

Anscheinend ein Prequel, ich hoffe nur der Teil erscheint auch noch in Europa^^.

In der LE sind: Postkarten, ein Poster und ein Artbook enthalten.
Die LE sollte es eigentlich europaweit geben, zumindest findet man auf der Verpackung der LE ein USK und PEGI-Zeichen (auf der Verpackung in der Box dann allerdings nur ein PEGI-Zeichen, zumindest bei meiner UK-Version)

Laut einem Mitarbeiter von Ghostlight (der Typ der im GameFAQs-Forum postet) hat die LE eine recht geringe Auflage von 5000 Stück und wird nicht nachgedruckt. (wenn das Spiel einem nicht zusagt, wird man die LE später mit Sicherheit für einen ordentlichen Preis verkaufen können )

Habe mir auch die LE von Agarest: Generations Of War bestellt. Bin sehr gesapnnt wie das Kampfsystem ist.

Ich bin mittlerweile auch gut in der 4ten Generation und hab anscheinend recht viele Events und 1 oder 2 Charaktere verpasst (was mich sowieso nicht wundert, da ich nicht mit FAQ spiele und es gibt wirklich eine ganze Menge, die man verpassen kann)


Btw, die Amis bekommen auch die Xbox-Version und anscheinend basiert die amerikanische PS3-Version, auf der japanischen Reappeareance-Edition (welche damals für Xbox360 mit zusätzlichem Content erschienen ist).

Außerdem bekommt die amerikanische Version exklusiv Trophies und Achievments, allerdings wird anscheinend nur die Xbox-Version als Disc-Edition angeboten und anscheinend wird es keine LE geben.

Ich hoffe mal, wir bekommen die Extras auch noch in Form von DLC (bzw. in Sachen Trophies als Patches).
In Sachen Content kann ich mich bei der EU-Version jedenfalls definitiv nicht beschweren, da ist es mir im Moment sogar egal, das wir nicht Reappereance bekommen haben

Jup, Agarest ist der erste Teil und Zero der Nachfolger, der zeitlich allerdings noch vor Agarest spielt^^.
