2008: Console Showdown - PS3 vs. Wii vs. 360

Welcome to IGN Australia's 2008 Console Showdown, where we pit the games of the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 against one another in an all-out brawl. Over the next few days, we'll be looking at which system had the best games this year in a genre by genre breakdown, we'll be comparing the games available on WiiWare, PSN and XBLA, and we'll be crunching numbers to judge each system's performance based on scores. We're kicking the features off today, however, with a look at system exclusives. Which console had the strongest line-up of exclusives in 2008?

Before we get started, however, a few things you need to know about our system exclusives head-to-head:

  • We're using IGN AU review scores wherever they're available. If we didn't review it, we're using the U.S. team's score. And if they didn't review it, the U.K.'s.
  • We've set a score of 7.5 out of 10 as the benchmark for inclusion in the feature.
  • While this is a console showdown, we're not counting games as exclusives if they're also on PC. Sorry 360 fans – Left 4 Dead doesn't count.
  • We're only including games available at retail. As mentioned we'll be doing a full showdown between WiiWare, PSN and XBLA in the next day or so.

Looking at the breakdown of scores, it's clear that while the PlayStation 3 only has two more exclusives than the Xbox 360, it has quality on its side, with four games scoring 9 or higher, compared to only one on Xbox 360. The Wii, meanwhile, comes in with two. All three systems have exclusive strengths and weaknesses, but if we had to call a winner - and we do - we'd give it to the PlayStation 3: Sony's system has the highest standard of exclusives, paired with plenty of variety.

Oh und die IGN AU und US score sind fast gleich also wäre das Urteil von IGN US auch so ausgefallen^^
 
Gute Sache für die Keineeigenemeinung-Gamer, für alle anderen nur am Rande interessant.
Ich würde beispielsweise sagen, dass von den Exclusives her 2008 insgesamt betrachtet eher schwach ausgefallen ist; müsste ich jedoch eine Krone vergeben, würde die X360 sie bekommen für GeoW2 und NGII.

Ist halt deren Meinung.
Allerdings kann man sich eigentlich nur an den Kopf fassen, wenn Lost Odyssey und Tales of Vesperia einfach so übergangen werden (wegen zu niedriger Wertungen wahrscheinlich, ich weiß, aber allein das ist schon lächerlich genug).

Vollkommen verdient, war ein schwächeres Jahr als 2007 aber die PS3 hatte wirklich geniale Exklusivtitel. Wäre jetzt das Steckenpferd Preis nicht und würde Sony endlich mal Nachhilfe inn Sachen Marketing nehmen...

Was sowieso sehr komisch ist, da es nicht das beste RPG geworden ist obwohl es nominiert wurde.

Sorry aber erkkäre mir mal bitte, was an diesem Artikel nicht richtig ist? Es geht hier um scores und um die exclusiven Spiele. Da kann man kaum eigene Meinungen haben mein Freund.

Du hast Recht, Darji, man kann keine eigene Meinung darüber haben, ob IGN Au das jetzt so gewählt hat oder nicht. Aber man kann eine eigene Meinung darüber haben, ob man dem zustimmt, was sie gewählt haben, ob es einen interessiert, ob es gerechtfertigt war, ob es bedeutsam ist... naja, ich will ja nicht pauschalisieren, drum sage ich lieber: zumindest manche von uns sind in der Lage, dazu eine eigene Meinung zu haben.

Die Nominierungen und Gewinner sind okay. Wenn die zu dem Ergebnis gekommen sind - super. Ist ja nicht falsch. Ist aber natürlich auch nicht richtig - entscheidet ganz einfach jeder für sich selbst.

Die Sache ist dafür extra einen Thread zu eröffnen? Drei Dutzend anderer User konnten auch den dafür vorgesehenen Thread nutzen - dann kannst du das auch :-) Wäre das jetzt eine größere Wahl würde ich sagen okay - aber verdammt, wir reden hier von IGN Australia Mensch. Das musst du doch sehen ... :shakehead:
 
die ps3 liste ist netmal vollständig (wieso haben sie naruto mit 8,3 bei der 360 dabei und das ps3 naruto mit 8,4 nicht?)
 
von den Games her war 2008 auf jeden fall das Jahr der PS3. Von den VKZ her wenigstens stärker als die 360.

2009 werden wohl sowohl VKZ als auch Spiele der PS3 gehören. Wahrscheinlich mit etwas mehr Abstand als dieses Jahr.
 
naja naco software sells hardware. und da die 360 ihren vorsprung ausbauen konnte ist es wohl eher umgekehrt . also das die 360 die besseren SoftwareVKZ hatte als die PS3
