Q: I love FF12's huge explorable world, the scenery, and the battle system. Is this game just like FF12 but bigger and better?
A: FF12 is nothing in comparison.
A: Xenoblade beats ff12 in terms of... everything
A: I don't find it *that* similar to FFXII. They share huge, MMO-esque environments (though Xenoblade's are waaaaaay more interesting), and superficially the battle systems are quite close, but in XII AI management is the meat of the battle system, while in Xenoblade it barely plays any role at all. I found Xenoblade much more 'hands on' than FFXII, and felt like a lot more of the work in winning any given battle was done during the battle rather than via tinkering with the right setup beforehand. I wouldn't say it's necessarily any better or worse, as I quite liked XII's battle system, but I think those who found it too automated will probably enjoy Xenoblade's a lot more.
Also, as someone who really enjoyed XII, I still think the story / gameplay balance is a lot better in Xenoblade. XII's story went missing in action for long spells, while in Xenoblade it pretty much always feels like something's happening. In XII I'd often lose track of my objectives completely for hours at a time. In Xenoblade, you'll take massive detours, but you'll rarely forget what's actually going on in the story. Strange, really, since Tetsuya Takahashi has always struggled with getting the balance between gameplay and story right, but with Xenoblade he seems to have clocked it.

There are lots of cutscenes, but there's lots of gameplay too, and it rarely felt to me like I was doing too much of one and not enough of another at any given time.
A: The game is complete. You can't find a rpg as complete as this one these days. And it has strong feelings between scenes places and musics, Everything is giant.
