wurde soeben in der famitsu enthüllt

Lollipop Chainsaw is a PS3 and Xbox 360 action title that will be published by Kadokawa Games. Famitsu lists the game as date TBA.

Players take control of Juliet, a girl who hails from a family of zombie hunters. Zombies have suddenly appeared in Juliet's San Romero High School, and Juliet must take them out with her chainsaw.

In addition to her chainsaw, Juliet is also apparently adept at cheerleading. She will perform acrobatic actions as she hacks away and fills the screen with showers of pink blood.

We know where the chainsaw of the title comes from. We also may know where the "lolli" comes. As for the "pop" part, in an interview with Famitsu, Grasshopper's Suda 51 apparently says that the game will deliver a previously unseen "pop" style of zombie game. We'll hopefully find out what that means once we get a first look at Lollipop Chainsaw later this week.

Akira Yamaoka Working on Lollipop Chainsaw

You heard first details on Grasshopper Manufacture's Lollipop Chainsaw earlier today. Now find out who's working on the game, courtesy of Famitsu.

The magazine reveals that Grasshopper CEO Suda 51 is the game's "Creative Director". The producer is listed as Masahiro Shidara. Akira Yamaoka is in charge of the game's overall sound component.

For Suda and Yamaoka, this would be the third project we've heard about from them in the past month. Last week, Hideo Kojima revealed that the two were working with him on the radio drama Sdatcher, based off Kojima's classic adventure game Snatcher. A few weeks back, Namco Bandai announced an Evangelion rhythm game, which is also being worked on by the two, with Suda listed as creative producer.

In our initial report, we mentioned that main character Juliet, full name Juliet Sterling, has cheerleader-like moves. Based off the skimpy outfit she wears in Famitsu's artwork, it appears that she actually is a cheerleader.

Famitsu lists Lollipop Chainsaw as 70% complete, but does not provide a release time frame

Anfangs fand ich das schon zu abgedreht, selbst für Suda Verhältnisse, aber mittlerweile werde ichs mir wohl auch zum Release kaufen. :)
