Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X adds new Live Quest Mode, Module Drops

Famitsu this week has new details on Sega’s recently announced Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X for PS Vita and PlayStation 4.

In addition to the “Free Play Mode” where you can enjoy the standard rhythm game, there is a new “Live Quest Mode” that offers gameplay of a different variety.

In Live Quest Mode, players can take on quests via bulletins posted throughout five divided areas, which you’ll “fill” with the power of song as Miku and friends get stronger. You’ll clear quests when your “Voltage” is raised to a fixed amount. The traditional “Diva Room” that has appeared in past games will act as a base for this mode. There are also conversations that occur between characters after you complete quests.

There is also a new “Rush Notes” feature. During the game, when the word “Rush” is displayed on-screen, you can repeatedly press the corresponding button within the allotted time for a higher score.

While Modules (costumes) are traditionally purchased using the in-game Diva Points currency, there is also a new “Module Drop” feature. You can gain more Modules by clearing quest conditions and succeeding “Chance Time” opportunities. The modules you obtain are random, but specific modules tend to drop based on the quest.

Famitsu also confirms some new songs, modules, and appearing characters:

Songs and Modules

- “Renai Saiban” (40mP)
- Module: Judgment

- “Raspberry*Monster” (HoneyWorks)
- Module: Raspberryism

- “Strangers” (Heavenz)
- Module: Silent Voice

Characters

- Hatsune Miku
- Rin
- Len
- Luka
- Kaito
- Meiko

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X screenshots introduce Elements, Skills, new songs

Sega has released a new set of information and screenshots for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X detailing the game’s elements, skills, and latest confirmed songs.

Get the information below.

Elements

In Live Quest Mode, there are five types of areas that exist: “Neutral,” “Cute,” “Cool,” “Beauty,” and “Chaos.” The rhythm game’s songs are stationed throughout each area. Each module and accessory you equip has a set element. If you coordinate your module and accessories with the element of the rhythm game, the initial value of your Voltage Rate will increase and you can earn Voltage more efficiently.

For example, “Renai Saiban” song is tied to the “Cute” element. The “School Module” in combination with the “Sheep Horns,” “Giant Glasses,” “Name Tag,” and “Wings of Light” accessories will give you a 40 percent Voltage Rate bonus.

Of course, you can also play without coordinating your favorite modules and accessories. Sometimes, depending on your coordination of accessories, you’ll get non-element related bonuses, too. For example, with the “Dizzy Glasses” and “Schoolbag” acccesories equipped, you’ll receive a 12 percent “Committee Chariman” bonus.

Skills

For each module are set “skills” that influence the rhythm game. Example skills include “Recover,” which cover up mistakes you make during the rhythm game, “Rate Up,” which lets you earn more Voltage, skills that influence module drop rate, and more.
