Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone announced for PS4

Sega is bringing Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade to PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2016 as Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone, the company announced during SCEJA Press Conference 2015. It will be released as a download title.

A trailer shown at the event featured the song “Electro Saturator.”

From the stream the producer said they are planning to release this in full package form, including all of the over 200 songs that are in arcade. No, F2P, no DLCs. He said this is like a thank you gift for the fans.

Sega announced Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone for PlayStation 4 at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, but we haven’t heard much from the game since then. Today, Hatsune Miku publicist Nakanohito #1 shared two new off-screen images from the PlayStation 4 version on Twitter.

It’s worth noting that, according to the screenshot, there are 213 songs.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is due out for PlayStation 4 digitally in Japan in 2016. It will run at 1080p in 60 frames per second.

Ich denke mal das die Anzahl der Lieder mit schrottigen Songs in die Höhe getrieben wurde. Die besseren Tracks werden bestimmt per DLC geliefert wie damals bei Theatrhythm CC.

The PlayStation 4 version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone will be playable at Snow Miku 2016 from February 6 to 7 at the Sapporo Factory Room, Sega announced.

Here’s the full list of playable titles:

- Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X for PS Vita – “Renai Saiban” by 40mp and “Chaos Medley: Giga Remix” by Giga-P.
- Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX for 3DS – “Senbonzakura” by Kurousa-P (WhiteFlame) and “Ii Aru Fanclub” by Mikito-P
- Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade Future Tone for Arcade – Play the arcade version of Hatsune Miku for free. There will also be photo studio-supported units.
- Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone for PlayStation 4 – Its first-ever showcase at an event, play the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the Hatsune Miku arcade game.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is due out as a download-only title for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2016.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone for PlayStation 4 will release in two versions when it launches via the PlayStation Store in Japan later this year, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

Here are the details:

- Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone – Future Sound will include 120 songs focused on the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva home console series.
- Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone – Colorful Tone will include 100 songs focused on the arcade game and 3DS Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai series.

Both packs together include 220 songs and 340 modules.

The PlayStation 4 rhythm game will run in 1080p at 60 frames per second. Players can customize up to six characters to appear in music videos. Additionally, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone will be the first game in the series that offers key configuration. Players can even set one button to trigger multiple presses.

How to Play

Similar to the Project Diva series so far, the basic Triangle, Square, X, and Circle icons are arranged to the buttons of the DualShock 4, as well as the d-pad.

The “Slide” element introduced in the arcade version can be controlled with the left and right sticks, as well as with the L and R buttons. Additionally, by switching options, touchpad and motion sensor functions will also be available.

Controls Customization

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone launches June 23 in Japan

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone will launch for PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store in Japan on June 23, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

The main application, dubbed “Prelude,” will be free to download. Users can add songs and modules through the previously detailed “Future Sound” and “Colorful Tone” packs, which will each cost 3,900 yen (4,212 yen with tax). The “Future Sound” pack includes over 120 songs focused on the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F series, and the “Colorful Tone” pack includes over 100 songs focused on the Project Mirai series and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade. There are over 220 songs and 340 modules between both packs.

Pre-orders will start this month. Consumers who pre-order the rhythm game will receive two original design PlayStation 4 themes to download as a special bonus.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone details Hairstyle Customization, Survival Course

Sega has detailed the hairstyle customization feature and “Survival Course” mode in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone for PlayStation 4.

Hairstyle Customization

The feature series fans have been eagerly anticipating! With “hairstyle customization,” you can customize the hairstyle of the module you choose. Previously, hairstyles and modules came as a package deal, but now you can combine your favorite costumes and hairstyles to create an even wider variety of character customizations.

(You can’t change hairstyles between different characters. There are some modules that aren’t compatible with the hairstyle customization feature.)

“Survival Course” is another series first. It is a difficult mode that gives players a single “Life Gauge” and stacks several songs specified for each course on top of each other to be cleared one after the other. The order the music is played is random, and you can only select the first song. Your “Life Gauge” and “Combo Number” carries over the the next song. When all of the specified music is cleared, you’ll clear the course. There are several courses, as well as online rankings support for each course.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is due out on June 23 in Japan.
