GTAVII laut OXM exclusive for PS3

Sony secures exclusive for Grand Theft Auto 7 ( Name yet to be announced )

According to the November 2007 issue # 76 of the Official Xbox Magazine Sony has secured the next Grand Theft Auto, which would be number 7 in the series, to be a true exclusive to the Playstation 3.

"Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of the Cell and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that" as said by Sony's Michael Shorrock in a statement to the press. " We handed Rockstar a signed blank check because we were short sighted enough to let Grand Theft Auto's exclusivity get away from us. Oops!"

Looks like the Xbox fans may be out of luck when it come to the next installment of Grand Theft Auto. If they do release a 360 version it sounds like it would have to be on multiple dvd discs if the game truly takes advantage of Blu-ray.

One thing is for sure. This will be interesting to watch play out. Stay tuned!

PS: What it is referring to is the next game in the series. We have also noticed that some readers seem to think that OXM published this news as a joke. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. As a matter of fact it was not even published as a rumor but as news in the "Inbox" section on page 106. If you don't believe us go buy the magazine.

Ich weiss nicht wieso, aber ich habe mich nie richtig hingezogegen zu dem Spiel gefühlt. Bei GTA 7 müsste es sich eigentlich um den directen nachfolger von GTA 4 handeln oder? Denn es gab ja eigentlich mehrere Teile als nur vier bis jetzt zu GTA. Aber dein Post, wäre dann die Bestätigung seitens Rockstar, dass die PS3 die weit aus bessere Konsole wäre. Wenn solche bekannte Entwickler wie Rockstar behaupten, dass die PS3 besser als die Xbox 360 ist, müsste da schon was wares dran sein. Also denen würde ich sowas eher glauben als Ubisoft

Also das war doch schon klar nach dem die PS3 angekündigt wurde? Ich meine BR und Cell, keine anderen Komponenten schaffen 4D, 1080p und 120fps.

So, after getting about a dozen e-mails from readers saying “Yeah, they didn’t mention GTA being exclusive”, and getting a dozen e-mails calling me a dumbass and making fun of my mother, I decided to go down to the Barnes & Noble and pick up the November issue of OXM.

Sure enough, on page 106, right under a story about Kudo Tsunoda working on a Marvel superheroes fighting game that, quote, “doesn’t suck”, is the story in question. And true enough, there is the quote.

INKED A deal with Rockstar to secure the publisher’s next franchise exclusively did Sony. “Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly do only on PS3, harnessing the power of Cell adn Blu-Ray disc, and this deal lets them do just that,” enthusiastically exclaimed Sony’s Michael Shorrock in a statement to the press. …so there you go. The quote WAS in OXM, but unlike how it was previously reported that the next GTA would be exclusive (ala HDGameNews and others), it simply clarifies what we already knew: That Sony and Rockstar signed an exclusive agreement for a NEW franchise. Now, for one last item:

Und zweitens glaub ich nicht das es Ps3 exclusiv wird
Rockstar wird es sich 2 mal überlegen wenn die 360 Version die Ps3 Version von der Verkaufszahlen her gepwnd hat!
