Film DC Extended Universe

Aquaman sagt hier auch was komplett anderes.

In James Wan's Aquaman, some DC Extended Universe fans noticed what they thought was a potential plot hole when Amber Heard's Mera took Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry to Atlantis for the first time. While that memorable moment left the hero's jaw on the ground, it also left fans scratching their heads. That's because Arthur appeared to have already visited Atlantis in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Now, Wan has finally set the record straight on where exactly Aquaman visited in Snyder's movie, which was set a year or so before his solo outing.

"It wasn't Atlantis. I spoke with Zack early on, and Zack mentioned that the location that Aquaman swims to in Justice League is an outpost," Wan said to the Huffington Post. "So when he told me that was his idea, I was like, "Oh, great, then I can actually have Arthur go to Atlantis for the first time.""

"That's very important for me, because he can go into it and have a wide-eyed approach to Atlantis and be in awe of it," Wan added. "I think that's very important from a storytelling standpoint because the audience gets to experience Atlantis for the first time along with the character."

In Justice League, Arthur visited what we now know is an Atlantean outpost to try to stop Steppenwolf from stealing a Mother Box, and he eventually got his armor and trident there after Darkseid's general escaped.

Now now that we know this fight didn't take place in the heart of Atlantis, it's unclear why something as precious and powerful as a Mother Box wouldn't be kept kept within the heart of the underwater city for better protection.
