Das Spiel erscheint noch diesen Sommer in Amerika und Japan. Europa steht wohl noch nicht fest.

Azure Striker Gunvolt, the upcoming 2D action game from Inti Creates and Comcept, will be released in both North America and Japan this Summer, Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu has confirmed to Siliconera. Gunvolt is being considered for release in Europe as well, Aizu shared with Siliconera. However, if it is released in Europe, due to the need to localize the game into multiple languages, a European release will come later than Japan and North America.

Azure Striker Gunvolt’s Anime And Manga Influences

“I’ve had a lot of formative experiences involving anime and comics from the ‘90s, so I believe Azure Striker Gunvolt has been influenced by those as well,” Tsuda replied. “For example, in the case of anime, this is before the ‘90s, but Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac, Giant Robo (OVA,) Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, and such.”

“In terms of manga,” said Tsuda, “Locke the Superman (by Yuki Hijiri), Fuma no Kojiro (by Masami Kurumada), Raimei no Zaji (by Masami Kurumada), Commander 0 (by Jun Tomizawa) and many other splendid works of anime and comics have been an inspiration.”

Why Inti Creates Changed Gunvolt’s Design For The West

“During the development of Gunvolt, we researched what kind of design would appeal to boys between the ages of 10 and 14—who we assume will be the game’s main purchasers—in North America.

“As a result, we changed Gunvolt’s design, because braided hair and a bare midriff were unpopular among them. However, these changes are not final. We will continue to do research into the matter.”

Gunvolt Gets His Braid Back In The U.S. Version Of Azure Striker Gunvolt

“Inafune-san and [Inti Creates CEO] Aizu-san also discussed the character design of Gunvolt for US version,” the Gunvolt Twitter account said this morning. “Inafune-san concluded that Gunvolt keeps ‘braided hair’ in US version too. Because he emphasises the design.”
